I have read a set of ISI's books that have been very helpful and inspirational to me in our classical homeschool--but they are also forming my thoughts about what to look for in colleges. If you go to the ISI site, and search for James Schall's book called "A Student's Guide to Liberal Learning", and look at other books in the series, THAT is the series. Schall's extended essay is worth getting if you can get only one, but they are all *wonderful*. If you want to take a look at Schall's piece, you can Google for it, and print it right off the internet. This version is actually longer than the book. All of these books have bibliography's for further reading.
Note also that ISI published Climbing Parnassus.
